![]() ![]() Of course, a problem can rise up, as the animation quality of “the episode” is much better than the animation of the arcs that follow in the anime. ![]() It’s a good way to find out a few information about the characters, before progressing to the story of Loguetown from the standard anime. ![]() And I think that if you have any friends that want to watch One Piece and lack the courage to catch up to the already released episodes, they can at least watch these abridged movies, starting from “One Piece: Episode of East Blue”. Now, what is the reason I am writing this post? I got to watch the movie today. We don’t love Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp and Sanji for their character in the 50 first episodes of the anime (which the movie basically covers), but for what they do later on, for what they are in general. Of course, the characters cannot be expanded on in 2 hours, but let’s be realistic. The East Blue saga was compressed into an almost 2 hour movie, including the basic parts of the flashbacks of the first 5 members of the crew, as well as their battles in a quick way. Hopefully, some time ago, the abridged versions of a few stories were released in the form of TV-movies, with new animation. So what happens in this case?Įpisode of East Blue – The Abridged Version Of the First One Piece Saga And unlike me, who caught up to everything more than 10 years ago back in episode 422, the new people have more than the double amount of episodes I had to watch. Considering the vast amounts of episodes, catching up to the One Piece anime seems like climbing up a mountain. So, for new people who want to get into One Piece, their first experience comes with the anime. The looking into the eyes scenes, the deep breaths before an action, the birds on the sky at the climax of a battle, anything can be stretched out so that the content of the anime won’t catch up to the manga… And while that is acceptable, there are countless times this is intolerrable. If you are into the manga, you can easily figure out how bad the anime can be because of the vast amount of filler scenes. So, their first experience won’t be the manga, which is the quickest way as it lacks any filler content, but the anime. The reason? Most people that don’t watch One Piece are not really into manga in general. However, that is something really difficult, considering how much time it takes for one to catch up to the latest events of the manga. “Zoro-senpai and Sanji-senpai who do the heavy lifting for the Straw Hats!
